Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted rain and snow in next 24 hours on February 20 and 21.
"J&K will experience light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of and Kargil districts of Ladakh during next 24 to 36 hours," Sonam Lotus, Director MeT here said.
He added that light rain and snow will commence on Wednesday evening at some places of J&K and will gradually increase in intensity and spatial distribution with peak on Feb 20.
Some places in plains of Jammu may also experience thunderstorm and the rain may lead to landslides in Banihal-Ramban axis leading to temporary disruptions of surface transportation.
